Top class development on school site - Published on Thursday 26 Jan 2012 at 15:35:16

There are some bright specimens at Keepmoat Homes’ new Scholars Way development on the site of the former Kramel School.
With prices starting from just £94,396 through the Government backed FirstBuy* initiative, the Cramlington site looks certain to pass close examination by first time buyers and growing families.
Altogether 49 homes will be built for sale including the two bedroom Normanby (priced above) and three bedroomed homes – the Ashby (£109,596), Ambrose (£111,996), Canterbury (£123,996) and Oakhurst (£129,596).
All prices quoted are through FirstBuy which, for those who qualify, provides a 20% equity loan towards the purchase cost. No repayments or fees need be made on this loan – funded equally by the Homes and Communities Agency and the developer – for the first five years, unless the property is sold.
The recently opened show home is the three bedroom, two-and-a-half storey Oakhurst. The entrance hall provides access to the stairs, a downstairs w.c. and a doorway to the kitchen. Vibrant white cabinets and classic stone coloured surfaces contrast with a complementary fuchsia finish, which adds a splash of colour to the walls and trimmings.
Through the kitchen is the separate living room with French doors which lead to the garden. The stylish colour theme is continued with sparing flashes of rich burgundy beautifully offsetting the pale cream carpet, white furniture and silver accessories.
On the first floor are two bedrooms, the family bathroom and study. The first bedroom, a double, further expands on the light airy mood and is dressed in pale white, cream and silver tones. The second, a single, is decorated as a child’s bedroom and has an adventurers theme with a tree house wall mural and natural green colour scheme.
The family bathroom includes a full length bath with shower overhead and the floor is completed with a study, which provides access to a partially hidden staircase to the third floor.
Here can be found the master bedroom and en-suite with shower. Both rooms are dressed in light cream with a modest use of claret accompanying. There is also a storage area that can be accessed from the en suite.
