 New CEO 'Keepmoat Group'

The Keepmoat Group – of which Keepmoat Homes is an integral part – has a new Chief Executive.

Ian Sutcliffe, formerly an Executive Director of SEGRO plc, Taylor Wimpey plc and a non-executive Director of Ashtead Group plc replaces David Blunt who, after 35 years with the organisation has decided to retire, although he will remain in a non-executive capacity.

The move comes following a positive response from the Office of Fair Trading (OFT), to the proposed merger of Keepmoat with Apollo Group.  Legal completion is anticipated by early February.

Ian Sutcliffe will head up the new organisation which will be known as ‘the Keepmoat family of companies’.  This will be a national market leader in community regeneration and social housing solutions with a turnover of some £1 billion (as at 31 March 2011) and approximately 3,500 employees across the UK.

Tom Allison, Chairman of Keepmoat, commented: “I would like to thank David Blunt for the enormous contribution he has made to the development of Keepmoat and I am also delighted that Ian Sutcliffe has decided to join us for the next phase of our journey.  He is a well-rounded business professional with a wealth of experience in dealing with the market challenges we face and a tremendous track record of delivering results.”

Ian Sutcliffe, 52 and married with three children, said: “I am greatly encouraged by the underlying strength and potential of this business.  This merger has brought together two companies with numerous complementary strengths and leading positions in their respective markets.  We have great people, excellent relationships with our customers and suppliers and the continued support of our bank and shareholders through a long-term financing package, all of which leaves us well positioned in the market and able to look to the future with confidence.”
