Keepmoat's kick start
Keepmoat Homes has kick started business at the beginning of
2010 by securing nearly £5 million worth of government
funding.
The grant means that the Yorkshire based developer, which operates throughout the North and Midlands, will begin building on five new or mothballed sites by the summer.
These are in Sheffield, Brandon and West Rainton in County Durham, Sefton and North Huyton on Merseyside.
A total of 267 affordable homes will be created with the support of the government's kick start programme and Managing Director, Peter Hindley, said: "Whilst the housing industry is slowly recovering from the recession, the market remains fragile. Any initiative which can help stabilise and revive interest in the market is a welcome remedy.
"The support helped us to achieve our targets in 2009 and this will hopefully ensure we achieve more ambitious figures this year as the economy improves and confidence returns."
The Kickstart Housing Delivery programme was announced in the 2009 Budget targeted at currently stalled sites, to support construction of high quality mixed tenure housing developments.
Keepmoat Homes, part of the Keepmoat group of companies, specializes in providing desirable homes, predominantly for first and second time buyers, throughout Yorkshire, the Midlands, the North East and the North West of England.
