Bungalows are back! - Published on Thursday 19 Jan 2012 at 15:45:54

Bungalows are back in Teesside. Planning permission for 19 two bedroom bungalows in Hardwick has been given the green light.

Part of the ambitious Meadow Rise regeneration programme – a partnership between Keepmoat Homes, Barratt Homes, Endeavour Housing and Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council – it’s hoped that the introduction of the bungalows will help address housing needs in the area.

Christine Harrison, Sales Director at Keepmoat Homes North East, said:  “As our ageing population continues to grow, the demand for bungalows is increasing.  Although we specialise in properties for first time buyers we are skilled in delivering regeneration programmes, which provide diverse housing developments that meet the needs of local residents.  We are confident that the introduction of bungalows at Meadow Rise will prove popular with those planning for retirement or looking to downsize.”

Of the 19 bungalows constructed, two will be available for rent through social housing specialist Endeavour Housing with the 17 available for private sale through Keepmoat Homes.

House hunters interested in securing one of these 19 bungalows should contact Keepmoat Homes now to register their interest.

Meadow Rise is served by superb transport links which boast direct access to Stockton Town Centre and the neighbouring city of Durham via the A177.  Travelling further afield, the A1 and A19 are in close proximity.  A regular bus service also operates in the area, providing an easy commute between Stockton and Middlesbrough.

A short drive from the site, Teesside Retail and Leisure Park provides an extensive range of amenities and leisure pursuits, including a cinema and bowling alley.  There is a large Tesco's Extra less than one mile from the development.

Meadow Rise comprises a mixture of two and three bedroom properties. Homes available include the two bedroom Normanby, prices starting from £71,996 and the three bedroomed Ashby priced from £83,196;  all through the First Buy initiative.*

Through First Buy, house hunters can own 100% of their home for just 80% of the purchase price.  The remaining 20% comes in the form of a loan, provided equally by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Keepmoat Homes on which no fees are paid for the first five years.*
