Location…
Located to the south west of Consett, The Croft is helping to transform the area, with the introduction of new housing for sale, rent and shared ownership. Consett is a town of 27,000 people, high on the edge of the Pennines in north-west Durham. The town is perched on the steep eastern bank of the River Derwent and owes its origins to industrial development arising from lead mining in the area, together with the development of the steel industry in the Derwent Valley.

The Croft’s location means that it has easy access to the North East’s major routeways, including the A691 to Durham and the A692 linking to Tyneside. Just two miles from Consett on the A692 Consett Road the development is only a short drive from the historic city of Durham with its wealth of bars, restaurants and leisure facilities. A regular bus service to Consett town centre - which offers linking services to Durham, Gateshead, Sunderland and Newcastle - makes commuting within the region easy.

The shopping facilities of Consett town centre are nearby, including a bank, chemist, post office and supermarket. Stanley, Chester - le - Street and Lanchester - recognised as one of County Durham’s prettiest villages - are only a short drive away. Leisure pursuits including a cinema and the regions open air museum - Beamish, are nearby as well as an array of local pubs, restaurants and night clubs. For those that enjoy golf there are a variety of golf clubs in the area, including Consett and District Golf Club, Hobson Municipal Golf Club and South Moor Golf Club, to name just a few.
